Yet another business card thread

I'm feeling stumped coming up with a new business card. I now practice two very different professions that compliment each other quite nicely (birth doula and reflexology). I don't want to carry around two separate biz cards but I don't want the cards to look too "maternity" since not all of my clients are there for pre- and post-natal benefits.

I do have separate brochures describing both services so I don't think I need to list the benefits of either or both modalities on the card itself. Any suggestions or tips?

Two sided business cards? One side for each business??

Folded business card?? The card can be opened up and look like a mini brochure describing what you do.

This is not what you want to hear, but the two professions are just too different. I would carry two business cards.

Sorry, I gotta agree with barefoot. They are certianly complementary professions, but they are, as you said, very different. Besides, all the extra stuff to carry around from two businesses will help keep some MT in business.

Hi.

I was playing around with your idea, and came up with an idea that may work. It's a little cutsie, so it may not be your style, but you could consider having the main reflexology practice on the front with your info, and a simplistic Doula bit on the back.

Here's my sample. (I did it on Vista Print, and searched for "dragonfly" and "baby" to get the pics).

PS: I see a typo in there, so there are probably more. I didn't check it before copying it. I apologize.

I don't see a problem with listing both on one card but you must keep it simple! I worked in the printing industry for 10 years before I came to massage, and trust me less is more. Don't go with the foldover cards, they look cool but are a PITA for someone to carry around. Remember you want to make your card attractive and simple enough that the person will keep it and have a means of carrying it with them. I do like the idea of doing one on the front and one on the back. Have you considered a website and putting the address on your card so people can go there and check out a list of your services? That way you can keep it simple on the card, and go into detail on the website.

: Ha! Yeah, the doula bag alone is worth 60 minutes on my MT's table not to mention the acrobatic maneuvers one does for their pregnant clients in labor (straddling hospital beds to offer a scalp or shoulder rub, squashing the diaphragm and ribcage to support a client in the tub, et cetera). My reflexologist and MT are well rewarded for my last-minute calls: "I had a 47 hour client yesterday can you squeeze me in today? I'm dying!"
