That is true at the moment. But 3-D printing keeps getting better, which is both good and bad news. Things can be made locally and cheaper, also saving on shipping costs. But between 3-D printing and robotics there will be less jobs. The economies of the world will need to adapt.

Investment in other countries by large manufacturers would benefit other economies. Losing manufacturing and not being able to export products would cripple China.

China would never ban an American company or any foreign company who contributes money to their economy. They are not going to bite the hand that feeds them.
