I don't think spas will be able to open until mid June or July if they are going to wait until the case counts go down below 1,000. My guess here is July the 2nd after Canada day. Some of the girls are slowly coming back and working by appointments, especially those who already got vaccinated.

I agree we need to get to below 1,000 cases a day to open but I also recognize that cases are dropping, vaccinations are rising and there is a lot of pressure to reopen and people are already skirting the rules and that will only increase (more tickets and arrests) as the weather gets warmer. I think if the vaccination supply is steady/increasing and the cases keep coming down, we could be red zone opened as early as the beginning of June. I can’t see us opened for the May long weekend unless we get very lucky and they open patios.

They should allow appointments for personal care services to those with proof of vaccination. The anti-vaxxers can be turned away then sit outside on the curb and play with themselves. Have a sign outside “No shots = 0 shots on goal”

In Markham massages are not allowed by non RMT's. If a non RMT gives a massage she can get fined for that alone. I know a RMT who's place (north of Markham) was fined a few times because a non RMT gave a massage and the RMT was not on the premises. Covid has nothing to due with it. If bylaw want to be pricks they can very easliy.

Be very careful with Markham area spas along Kennedy between hwy7 and Steele. LE is checking around those area regularly. One spa got busted last week. To my surprise, it's the spa we rarely talk about or reviewed in here.

That is the standard in Ontario. Holistic license holders can offer shirts treatments but cannot offer massage therapy or massage treatments. Massage therapy as well as the titles RMT and MT are protected terms. You must be a member of the College to advertise as such. But the very careful and savvy find work arounds
