Once a week is extremely narrow but to be fair, there is no defined term for a spa regular. So if she's decided it's someone she sees weekly, then who are we to question her. However, she also said it's the industry standard for most girls, which is definitely not the case.

According to who is that not the case? I'm basing that on my opinion and that of my co-workers, which are many.

And according to the MPAs that I've stayed with, which are also many. I also have at least 6 MPA friends in the industry and they concur that while a weekly client is definitely considered a regular, you can still visit less and be considered one.

I guess you didn't read the part where I said I have actual friends in the industry. And I have met their MPA friends outside in social settings and these conversations are commonplace. What would be their reason to lie? On the other hand, you have stated you have no friends in the industry as you prefer to keep to yourself. You clearly have a strong personality and are very opinionated. So maybe ask yourself why your co-workers are so agreeable with your opinion.

I also listen way more than I talk, especially at work - I don't care to influence my co-workers.

Agreed. Of course, you can visit less and be considered a regular. Are you telling me that if a customer sees an MPA every 2-3 weeks for 5+ years that he's not a regular?

Exactly. There are some girls I see once a month and for me they are my regulars. Maybe I'm not as regular to them as someone who sees them once a week but I'm still a regular

I have several MPA's who I do not see in the spa as we are friends. They tell me if they see someone weekly, bi-weekly they are all top notch regulars. Some also say that they have regulars that they only see maybe once a month but they have been seeing them for years and consider them regulars.
So to blanket statement.of weekly being the only regulars is only your opinion and not a standard.
You are entitled to your opinion and I respect that for you a regular is weekly, for a enlightened person your description of regular is rather narrow.

have you ever lost a regular to another mpa? what transpired if so?

my guess is that it could be a similar feeling to losing a customer to a competitor (fucks with your ego) or is it actually more personal (more complex like a friendship gone wrong or faded away)?

I wrote about a customer punching me in this thread. Too often. Screening is important but you can't predict when someone is going to fly off the handle.
