Big Changes

I am really excited about what lies ahead. I have made some big decisions and have rented a space that came available to move my business. I was working at a clinic in the city and working out of my home, plus TA part-time at the Massage Therapy school AND doing chair massage...so I was here there and everywhere. In order to get focused and move ahead I made a decision to look for a space I could run my business out of. Working out of my home is not my thing, I have never had a complaint but for myself I did not like it. I was looking for a space in the city as there was nothing available in my small town, UNTIL I saw a for Rent sign one day last week. Long story short, I took it and we are going right at it with paint in hopes to have it ready for October 1st. This is going to be a great addition to my community and surrounding areas. I already have a therapist to work with, he is going to be great! We both have the same vision, he was one of my students last year and I really enjoyed him.

Anyways, so I have been getting my rusty ol' marketing brain going again. I have lot's of things to do, like get a sign, do up newletters, menus etc. Any ideas you have are always appreciated.

My infrared stone therapy unit should be here this week and I did my first Belavi facial last night on my husband, he loved it. I am taking the seminar in November for this before I offer it in my clinic. I am just going by the video that was sent. It's great. What alot of techniques. My clients loved the wee few that I did, they are just going to be in heaven when they experience the Belavi.

Congratulations, Jill! Enjoy the excitement of getting things up and running. I know I felt so much better after I finished painting my office space and had most things set up. Definitely gave me a strong sense of place and purpose. As an aside, my husband and I had the opportunity to drive through NB in July for attendance at his vet school reunion in PEI. You certainly live in a beautiful province... so many trees!

Congrats on your journey Jill. It all sounds wonderful. I am dying to try the belavi treatment. One of our new therapists is going to a seminar for it in November. She is pre-marketing it now. Maybe that would be a cool idea for you. She has a wonderful sign in a plexiglass holder/frame, getting the excitement going & has a special offer for the first 25 Belavi clients: putting them in a drawing for a free treatment of their choice. We also have a sign up sheet for those interested in more info. She will contact them via email or phone, etc to get them information & eventually offer them an appointment. I've never tried anything like that before (pre-marketing), but I think its innovative. Could be great!

I too have been dying to take the Belavi face lift course. Hopefully next year. I have two clients that are allready interested.

Thanks for the encouragement. Just got back a while ago from painting most of the day, am I ever glad I am scheduled in for a massage tomorrow I love the color of my tx. room!! It's called ocean air...need I say more! The colors chosen go together so well. I can't wait to start pulling it all together with accessories and such.

Jill, I knew you would have something good to add. The pre-marketing is a great idea and I actually was thinking of putting it out in my newsletter this week. I don't know exactly what to say without saying too much. Just enough to get people interested. What is she going to add as a free treatment? Do you mean something she will add with the facelift massage? I'm interested in hearing more : )

mtnmassage, glad you you liked our province...it is beautiful here. I live in the country and enjoy it so much, especially with fall coming and the leaves changing.

I am very excited for you! Do you mail your newsletter out or do you email it? Ocean Air sounds blue/green and breezy. I immediately had the vision of being on a secluded beech in white feeling very tranquil. Ahh! Great abundance to you!

We have a community paper that goes out once a month and this is what I put my news letter in. I need to work at getting ones done that I send to my clients...I have been really slack with all of this since the spring. But with the new location, I have much to do!!!

Picked up more accessories last night.....soooo exciting.

I had time to get more painting done today, but have both kids home sick. Guess that means I have to tend to my own house which has been neglected due to working at my little clinic. :roll:

This is awesome news Jill! I am so happy and proud for you.

One thought is contacting the local press and asking them to do a profile on your new business. Along those same lines, is there is a chamber of commerce in your town that does ribbon cutting ceremonies for new businesses (usually you have to be a member but it can be worth it for the networking/contacts)?

Possibly you already have a new client info package put together...but something that I have been giving some thought to as a marketing promo for new clients is a folder with a welcome letter, copy of office policies, a couple of referral type biz cards (for new clients to give to their family/friends that has their name on it), info on basic stretching, brochure of services, a brief bio, biz card magnet, and samples of biofreeze. (This would also be a good place for a teaser on the Belavi Face Lift.)

Is there a decent sized sidewalk in front of your space? Sometimes the tented sidewalk signs can draw a lot of attention to your space.

Another thought would be an Open House which would encourage people who are curious a chance to come in and check out your new fabulous space.

Thanks intuitouch. You have some great ideas there. I will contact the local paper to do a write up. I had them do one for me when I opened out of my home. I definately have been thinking of having a sandwich board(tent) sign out front. I also am looking into those nice canopy type signs that go above the entrance. I am also putting a business size ad in a coffee news that will be put out at our local restaurant...they are paper placemats with ads on them from local businesses. We also talked about doing an open house and also planning "demonstration" nights. We could choose a therapy and show the clients out in the waiting area, where they only have to observe and ask questions.

I like the idea of your folder you give your clients. Could add a pen with bus. contact info as well, definately something I will consider once we are started. I did put 4 good deals out in this newsletter so I hope that gets things jumping. I also made sure to thank all my dedicated clients who made it possible for me to make the move.

We are going to get some shirts done up with our bus. name on as well. This was my therapists idea...we just get so excited talking about stuff, I definately met my match.

oh..oh..oh...and I also am getting a corner electric fireplace that will be in this week. This will go in our waiting area....will be so nice!
