This just got a little bit more real for me. 30 minutes ago I was walking my dog and saw a homeless man collapse across the street. I saw several people just walk by him so I knew it had to be me that did something. I crossed the street and from about ten feet away I asked him if he needed help. He did, so I called 911 and waited with him for paramedics to arrive. Dan is 46 years old (looks in his sixties), was on no medication but lately had trouble breathing and had fainted a few times. After collapsing he was short of breath and too weak to get up by himself. Several other homeless people thanked me for calling for help. Not saying I know Dan has COVID-19, but his symptoms fit the bill. We are going to see a lot more of this.

I don't believe being poor ever killed anyone. Shutting down the economy for little while won't have the same effect as a killer virus.

I haven't checked any facts yet. But I would guess there are more traffic deaths in the summer, because of more volume.

I do remember reading some facts that traffic deaths have been going down steadily since the 1950's. Mainly due to the use of seatbelts. But also because of safer cars, tires, and the police crackdown of drinking and driving. It might have spiked recently due to cell phones, though.
