Why would anyone in Calgary pay 180 for a half hour body slide when they can enjoy the skilled ones in Edmonton for an hour for 200 all in? Yep, an actual hour of body sliding and finish, not just a few minutes in the hour.

Ummm.... I'll go with because we live in Calgary and not Edmonton. And some things aren't worth that much travel. Look some markets are determined locally and I guess there is a certain customer in the city that will pay that.

Calgary’s pricing is definitely much higher than Edmonton and Toronto with significantly worse service and talent.

There are way too many idiots who are absolutely willing to pay these insane prices for terrible service in Calgary unfortunately. That's the bitter truth. Hence, thanks to my job...I get to travel a lot...so I enjoy my massages in Toronto, Edmonton and Winnipeg and Europe instead of Calgary nowadays.

If you start relating it to what clients earn then the massage industry as we know it in our cities wouldn’t be around. Some of it is driven by insurance money as a base. On one hand running any business has a never ending list of expenses which need to be paid whether the shop has customers or none. This is where home based businesses have some advantages (and disadvantages such as personal security etc etc). My original post here is about comparable value. For any client if a day or two after any type of massage experience, if you feel great about what you spent and what you received, then terrific, carry on. I prefer to think about things and channel my spend to where I feel fully satisfied about it. Within the context of where we live etc. No point comparing prices to another country or even another province. However some Calgary offerings and gushy reviews don’t make much sense. However just Carry On..

As well, no point in comparing prices in different provincial cities. Cleo, at Elysium in Calgary charges $200 for an hour of body sliding. Her photos are on Leolist. Imo, she has a beautiful body and those are her photos.

$160 - 200 is the going rate for a hh body sliding experience at the local “spas”. $180 is on par.

Also, Divinity Spa opened a new location in Bridgeland this year and in the last few months, Edmonton’s Temptations, opened a Spa in Calgary and Calgary Nuru opened a second location in Calgary.

The demand is there for these businesses. Most of them are $200 - 180 for a hh body sliding experience.

I think we may be suffering from an mp talent migration. I am just going from the kijiji ads. When I left two years ago there were about 150 mp's advertising on kijiji. Last year when I left there were about 120. This year I have returned to about 90 to 93 active ads in kijiji. They may be migrating to other advertising or other climes.
I notice because I only parachute into Calgary for 5 or 6 months per year.

most will take what's offered. He who holds the cash holds the power but for some reason patrons of these places with arrogant over priced service are afraid to "offend" a provider by offering a more reasonable amount. Once people learn to control your dick and not let it control you (took me many years but I finally got it lol) and be prepared to walk out and go to another provider then life is a lot more pleasant.

I see someone said that Melody's was closed now too. Could it be because of underperformance? lack lustre service? hmmmm I wonder. The place was around from my early days. Was once good.

Several sketchy amps have closed this year and several new “Relaxation Spas” have opened recently. Obliviously, there’s a market for the latter.

I recently visited with Cleo, at Elysium Spa. Decent surroundings and a beautiful FIT ebony. $160 for the hh…more than I’ve paid at the amps. I have gravitated towards Asian woman, generally speaking, but at this time, I’m going to enjoy ebony women,

As much as we all complain about the rates, there might be thousands of Calgarian men visiting the higher priced spas and are comfortable with the prices, which in turn spur the amps to renovate (Bodytree) and match their pricing.

Many young fellas, just turning of age, are making upwards of 6 figures. My nephews are in their early twenties making 6 figures in the trades. The younger guys weren’t around for the old pricing and are used to shelling out big bucks for everything.

For the old-timers here, gone are the days of the Sun ads, the dangerous strolls and 40/hr massages.

More sketchy amps may close this year. More sleazy. amps might get busted this year, higher pricing may occur.

Nothing wrong with 100/hr home based if it’s expanded to a 200 for 2 hours of mutual massages and relaxation. And a good masseuse who gets to pick her clients.
