Pirate Club?

I'm curious why the Pirate Club is hardly talked about here. It's not even mentioned in Orange's Costa Rica for Dummies post. Their website is very informative and it really looks like a great place. I've put the Pirate Club along with HLH in the "must visit" category for my upcoming trip. How would you rate the girls working there? What are the pro and cons of this place?

I have been there a couple of times and the talent level has thoroughly sucked each time. And it's relatively far from the gulch and in a very seedy part of town.

One of the pros is that the rooms are very nice (never sessioned but took a tour).

Don Gordo gave it high marks just a short time ago. Hard to imagine it is not worth a try when a legend like DG gives it a thumbs up.

I have not been there in 2 or 3 years so anything I experienced is not relative. Unfortunately there is, on this board, posts that give a place a bad review and the poster has not been there in the past couple of years. Any opinion from an experience that old is really of no value. Except for a very few places there are no "institutions" in San Jose that remain static over the years. The scene is ever changing.

I agree that old reviews aren't really helpful since turnover is pretty high at these places.

My last visit was last August, and my opinion reflected the talent at the time. If DG was there recently maybe things have improved.

Pirate Club?

Here's a recent visit: last night. Depending on your taste there were fatties and flacas. Three 1st timers were there. One was totally to my liking, thin, no more than 19 and sultry looking. Another one who struck my fancy was 27, looked not a day over 20, no K*ds. no fat, great body. I was pleasantly surprised and will go back. Was able to park right at the front door. At 10pm I was too tired to partake. Afterwards we went to Arcadas and was also pleasantly surprised by the talent. Sure a number of fuglies, but 3 were fantastic, and it's 15K for a 1/2 hr. of anything goes in a private room. 2K cover to get in, but that gets you a beer. Skip it on the weekends. I hear it's packed. Tuesday night was cool.

I've seen really good talent in there one day and a disaster the next. Nice facilities though. The room with the stripper pole is a nice touch.....ymmv.....

The day prices are what make the Pirate Club worth a look. But the number of girls that they have listed for the day shift is a little off. I've been in there a couple times and its more like 4-6 girls during they day shift.

Pirate Club?

Beginning tonight, we will be hosting a weekly 1/2, no limit game at the Pirate Club with a minimum buy in of a mere $100. I have brought in the poker table that we had at the West Wing Casino and one of our dealers from there will be on hand to manage the game as well.

This is intended to be a friendly game where a few guys can get together each week and shoot the shit, play a little cards and enjoy the entertainment that is always available at our place. Several guys have already committed for this week and I hope to see this grow into a nice little event as we make our way through the summer leading into football season.

Snacks will be provided for the players and I will kick around a drink special as well. Ken needed some help running the place as he has been putting in an exhausting schedule for months now and since I have little to do with nothing going on but baseball, I have agreed to step in and see if we can't liven the joint up a bit more.

The current line-up is one of the best that I have ever seen here and new female bartenders are being interviewed as we speak. Stay tuned for more daily specials that we will be implementing in the immediate future.
