Male Fertility

I have been looking through this forum to find out if reflexology would help with male infertility. I have came across a lot about women and reflexology but nothing on men.

We are starting IVF soon due to male factor infertility. Would it be useful for a man to have reflexology also?

In short, yes it would.

When both partners are having treatments, it helps enormously. Theres a whole lotta stress around IVF & trying to concieve, so if both of you are getting some lovely reflexology, so much the better....

Thanks for replying Ged. I know we will need it to help us relax etc as its a very stressful time (this is our second try). I was wondering if you know if it can have an effect on the sperm quality and mobility?

Yes I am sure some reflexology could be helpful in these circumstances.

There are other things you can do too - good nutrition, like here, is highly effective in replacing the basic physical building blocks a body needs to be in top form and ready for reproduction. One particularly vital nutrient for men is zinc. Lack of zinc can reduce sperm production considerably - it is needed for sperm production. Hence oysters, thought to be an aphrodisiac, high in zinc improve sperm production but other foods have some in but not so much, see here and here. A useful book here, but if you check on Amazon there are others that look helpful.

The reproductive system requires the proper vitamins and minerals. Nutritional deficiencies can impair hormone function, inhibit sperm production, and contribute to the production of abnormal sperm. Lifestyle changes could be all you need for the reproductive system to work efficiently.

Reflexology is such an amazing treatment even for just chilling people out. I would say it will help with destressing and perhaps look into diet as others have suggested.

I have read heaps on fertility, and some studies show overwhelmingly that the natural vitamin E has a hugely positive affect. It has to be the natural vitamin capsules though, not the synthetic ones.

Keep away from as many chemicals both in your diet and the environment, eg, weed sprays, air fresheners ect.

I've been on your journey 3 times and it didn't work for me, but did for the women opposite me in hospital, so you never know your luck. Most importantly, help her relax on transfer day, and for the week afterwards, and give her lots of love.

Yes, there are many factors which can produce infertility.

I agree with Ged that it would be beneficial for both of you to receive reflexology.
Googling will certainly demonstrate that there is a lot of success using reflexology for infertility; see this example here where there are several references to positive results from reflexology with males.

By making the decision to undertake reflexology you are consciously allowing yourself time to receive healing and thus allowing the body to re-balance and do what it does naturally.

Emphasis on the endocrine system, reproductive areas as well as balancing the energetic body will all contribute greatly.

Please remain focused on the positive outcome that you are looking for, rather than looking for any negative aspects as they will detract from your desired positive outcome.

I treated my husband when i was a reflexology student and having fertility problems. His count went form zero, (to the point they asked if my husband had a vasectomy) to 5million in 12 weeks.

Yes definitely go ahead with reflexology yourself. Too often I only have the female half of the couple come to me for a treatment but without doubt the best success I have had is when I treat both partners. Good luck!
