Do any of you work outside? I would adore giving a massage outside in the fresh air. We do have a patio area where I work but sadly, it would be too loud out there. (traffic, etc) For those of you that do give massage outside where do you do it? Do you have problems with noise? Bugs? Thanks!

I've had a massage treatment out of doors before. It was a warm evening surrounded by woods and birds, and was really nice. At the time, bugs weren't a problem, although I imagine mosquitoes could be a real drag.

I have space behind my office that I have always said I would like to have an outdoor massage area...just have not found the time/energy/money to get it together.  Traffic would probably be a bit of an issue as well. I had a massage in a TIKI HUT on Siesta Key (here in FL) 2 months ago, and it was heavenly!  The conures were chirping, the breeze was blowing and it was about 75 degrees outside.  Truthfully, the massage was less than desirable, however the experience was worth every penny.I also had a massage on the beach in Jamaica last year...also heavenly!  Just an outdoorsy kinda girl, I guess!

I wonder what my family would say if I brought up relocating? Ha ha, I can guess what they would say. But I would sure love to be able to do massage outside. It sounds so heavenly.

i practice out call massage and one of my clients would get a massage on her side porch in the summer time.  it was pretty private and bugs weren't a problem, and lawn mowers were the only disturbance.  i got pretty hot though,  especially in the humidity.  also, in st. martin's i saw a massage therapist under a thatched roof one the beach.  i was very jealouse of that job!!

There is a B&B here with an amazing deck built along a ridge overlooking a beautiful coulee, I have been DYING to get an outcall appt. there during nice weather.   Lots of moisquitos tho ("North Dakotas State Bird"!)  maybe some citronella candles?   another B&B I worked with had an enclosed gazeebo (sp?) to house their hot tub, i always thought that would be a nice place to do massage too.

Outdoors is great.  My best outdoor/indoor massage was in a 20' gazebo that must have been designed by a massage therapist.  It had a small (6') high waterfall with a small pond at the base, power for my stereo and plenty of room for my table & linens.  It was placed in a completely hidden small grove of cherry trees and weeping willows about 60 feet from my clients' home.  In the spring when it warms up the windows come off and the screens take over.  When the weather changes the windows and heater take over.  My other favorite session was slightly more difficult to set up, but worth every bit of the labor.  I placed plastic trash bags around the legs of me table and did a session while standing in a shallow slow moving stream in the wilderness area near Mt. Rainier, WA.  Great views with the occassional eagle soaring and screaming overhead.  It was so good I left without the $$$, but they called and mailed me a very rewarding check.  Now I'm in Western Montana about 30 miles from the north entrance to Yellowstone and can't wait to do much more in the great outdoors.
