Help SNHS Aromatherapy course

Hi there wondering if anyone can help me im doing the aromatherapy course with SNHS I am on the self study one and im stuck, I have done the first 3 lessons all apart from one question
Number 7 on Lesson 1
Where on the human skeleton would an aromatherapist be interested to find hyaline carilage?
I have read the leson over and over and I just cant find the answer, it is the only one I have had a problem wth.
If anyone could point me in the right direction would be a great help.

Hylaine Cartilage can be found at the ends of bones which form Synovial Joints - I think thats the answer you need !

I did this course some time ago and have looked out my course notes just to see why you can't find it in the text. ( Had to dust the folder down a bit though first ! )
The information is there but I think its the way its written that makes it a bit unclear.
Have a look at Lesson 1, Page 6 and the section on Joints , ie. Fibrous Joints, Cartolaginous Joints and Synovial Joints (freely moveable). Its the section on Synovial Joints you need, and the info is in the first sentence.

Hyaline Cartilage is found elsewhere in the body, but the main area of interest to an Aromatherapist would be its location at the ends of the synovial joint forming bones.

Thanks so much Gwen you're a star, I've read this over and over and just couldn't see it, the way the question is put and the way the text was written just didn't seem clear to me at all. It is the only question of the first 3 lessons which flumuxed me.

I've just started the SNHS Aromatherapy course. I was going to do a crystal course but decided that as swedish massage is a very popular therapy for clients, that aromatherapy would be beneficial. Am finding it ok so far, some of the questions I need to look up in books or on the internet as they're not expained clearly in the notes. I've done Anatomy and Physiology with VTCT (Swedish Massage) so am getting through Part 1 very quickly.

How long on average do people complete these home study courses. Think Aromatherapy is 12 modules.

Hi heaven spirit, thats great that you have started the aromatherapy course too. I am on Lesson 3 at the moment and nearly finished it.

I am not sure how long the course might take as I haven't completed a full home study course yet. I would think maybe around 6 months?

Hi i did this course last year, but i did not finish it as i found when it came down to the massage the diagrams where hard to follow so did not understand it, so i am now doing the course at colleage in a couple of weeks.
also by doing snhs course are they covered to work on the public?
can you get insurence cover? i am not sure if FHT cover them???

Hi Froggy,

I am with the FHT and they do not accreditate the qualification but do cover for insurance purposes but you have to become an Associate Member which is what I am. You are also allowed to practice as I have enquiried this before.

I have passed all modules. Now on the case studies. But as its Christmas its difficult to co-ordinate the case studies. I have done one of my case studies and 1 follow up treatment. Need to do 2 more with 3 follow up treatments. Guess I will only be finished around June time. How about yourself?

Wondering how everyone is getting on with this course or finished?

I have completed Case Study 1.
Got just one more treatment to do for Case Study 2
and... then 2 more treatments for Case Study 3

I have done 3 treatments for each.... wonder what everyone else has done.

Then I will do final exam so envisage doing it around June time.

Hi all

Just came across this thread, I've jist started the Aromatherapy course, just on Lesson 3. My question is, do you need to be insured while you are training? My case studies wont just be friends and family as I am being mentored by a qualified therapist.
