Deep Tissue Massage Course??

<div class="bbWrapper">Hi Guys,<br /> <br /> Happy New Year!, <br /> <br /> I am thinking of adding deep tissue massage to my repertoire, as I have had quite a few clients ask if I did this.<br /> <br /> Can I ask who you did your courses with and would you recommend?<br /> <br /> I would prefer to do one that was a couple of days, but they all seem to only be a day workshop, do you think this is enough time learn?<br /> <br /> Many thanks for your help.</div>

I did a 6 day Indonesian Traditional Massage course to be able to practice oil-based deep tissue work, but that was in Cheltenham at the Bodyharmonics Centre. Then did one of them Gateway workshop course, which was OK and helpful to understand the Western theory, as I&#039;m mainly Oriental in my bodywork outlook. Wouldn&#039;t say that the GW course it was enough to be a full-on deep tissue therapist. Good taster &amp; CPD workshop.<br /> <br /> Since you are in Surrey, what about Jing in Brighton. <div class="bbWrapper">Deep tissue in 1 or 2 days, sounds like someones making some money! <br /> <br /> I would agree with the pixie man! I also dii the Indonesian course and it was all hands on practical work so the six days gave you enough experience.<br /> <br /> Anything less and its just a bit of paper to get you work, but you&#039;ll never be confident enough.<br /> <br /> As a experienced bodyworker if i were to teach a student i would expect at least a five day week, 1 day going over anatomy and 4 days of finger busting techniques.<br /> <br /> INDO</div>

<div class="bbWrapper">Thank you both for your replies.<br /> <br /> RP - Yes I did look at Jing, but what is putting me off is the cost of the courses, although you do get what you pay for! and they do look like great courses.<br /> <br /> The other deep tissue course I was looking at was the Jane Johnson - London Massage Company school, but then I would want to do the add on&#039;s as the actual deep tissue is still only 1 day.<br /> <br /> Many thanks</div>

<div class="bbWrapper">I have done courses with Jane and found her brilliant! I didn&#039;t do the deep tissue course with her i did that with someone near me and i wouldn&#039;t recommend that! I did get a lot from my original course but it was only one day and i felt i had to practice a lot first and go away and do my own learning.<br /> <br /> I have been on two of Jane&#039;s one day courses this year and thoroughly recommend also doing the soft tissue release course with her as that gave me a lot of helpful tips and techniques and clients love it. <br /> <br /> Jane packs a lot into her courses and you are always doing something, unlike some courses i have been on where i feel we could have covered the course in two hours if it weren&#039;t for the constant sitting around.<br /> <br /> Good luck with it, deep tissue is my most popular treatment and i think its a great course to add.</div>

<div class="bbWrapper">Thank you Andan for your reply. <br /> <br /> I think I have decided to go with a Jing course in September, purely as it seems they do a whole set of courses that will cover every aspect of the body. Although it&#039;s a lot more money than what Jane&#039;s course costs, it does seem cover a lot more techniques too in the one course ie trigger point, MFR, table shiatsu etc.</div>

<div class="bbWrapper">Yes, i&#039;ve heard from others that the Jing course is very good and leaves you well informed. I know Jane herself recommends those courses as she had recommended to me about doing the myofascial release course with Jing.<br /> <br /> Am sure you will really enjoy the course and all the new knowledge you take from it.</div>
