If I had a choice, I would open a KTV over an Amp. At KTVs, you really only have to worry about a visit from the NYPD Social Club Unit and ruining your night. Obviously an Amp has more significant problems if LE came knocking.

For some reason, many Amps last longer than KTV places with pr girls, go figure.

God I hate Circle as a club. Door policy sucks. Music sucks. It's too loud and too many dudes creeping on girls. All the girls look slutty but also they travel in packs to it's hard to talk to them. Anyways you can't talk cause the music's too loud. I never bought a table or tried booking.

A more "friendly" club is Hiro or Eden. "O" is trying to be exclusively korean, but quality of bookings & drunk and "ready to go" girls is the best.
Most girl groups heading to Circle pregame in ktown. (3rd flr cafe, pocha32..non korean friendly establishments) easily recognizable in their get ups, easily approachable.

Im asian and i totally agree with you. I go there often and spend a lot of money there so im sort of a regular customer but I still have to tip the bouncer every so often to get in. The worst part is that they will let in dorky fresh off the boat korean people and leave paying customers like me outside, I never go without being at a table. They do however keep a good ratio of girls to guys which is why its so popular, But ive seen non korean girls get turned down at the door a few times. Easiest way to get in if youre having trouble is to tip the bouncer 20-30 when mgmt isnt outside. But unless you are going to get bottle service, are under 30, and are decent looking, it might be hard to get in.
Ive seen the booking happening a few times, but honestly if you have any social skills you really dont need it there. Most people dont go there until late after they have been drinking somewhere else already. So you are right, there are tons of drunk girls stumbling around there for the picking. 4 million Net or Gross? It's not as clear as most see it. Room salons are higher take out versions of amps. Usually "love hotels" are in close proximity. The younger trim make good wages when Oppa or Ajessie throws the cash flow. Now you know why young Korean girls can drink the average "Mi Gook" under the table. Busy amps take in money, but rely om low rents and high traffic. Some retired amp girls go back to Korea and hook up with their young sisters and open small versions of room salons. Visitors, and locals kick back to enjoy the fantasy of this show. Money is power and tossing it around will get any pair of thighs to crack open.

Circle does booking more than you think. A more reg club would be Eden. I agree on the 30 and under looking.
For what its worth, i rather go to CIRCLE than a PR if I need to spend that much cash. PR is way more work.
@ CIRCLE you get better quality girls with bookings and a chance to meet a civilian girl who is already blasted.. and the language barrier is minimum.

Ive been to the korean places on northern towards the 160s in the past, and had a korean friend hook me up with going there after. Me being chinese actually prefer the chinese places better. For me the language barrier prevents me from getting further with the korean girls. Circle is fun but it is as hard to get into as the korean places unless you opt for a table. Im usually at circle a few times a month and the quality of the girls is very high but unless your 30 and under looking, I dont think they will sit and talk to you for more then 5 mins if they are "booked". I would say its more of a reg club then a booking club, but the waiters will book girls for you if you look like you need help.
I would think the AMP make more money then these PR joints because their business is based only on a few hours a day, say 10pm-4am where the AMP are 24 hours. Standard fee for each person with a girl and drinks would probably run you $250+ but no guarantee of you getting any action from the girl unless youre really a smooth talker or the girl likes you. Even then its only groping here and there. Sometimes I rather spend the 200 at an AMP when im guaranteed a certain level of service. But ive gotten a bunch of "free" ass from some of the girls at the PR joints but its way more work

Unless you can speak korean, be prepared to get stopped @ the door. There are a few on northern blvd that are for "Americans" but it is bad quality.
Younger guys can go to club circle in manhattan and get bookings. Imo that is a better value.
