They way my "life cycle" has worked out over the last few years, it's always gone that I get a two month period in the summer where I can devote some time to one of life's great hobbies.
So, this year, it looks like it's going to be July and August, so after reaching a bit over the 1/2 way mark, I figure I should give a little run down of my MP experiences.
So first up, Chang's
My first trip to Changs, after calling from parking lot to make sure there was an opening for me, I was greeted at the top of the 2nd floor by Shirley. She asked if I wanted a massage, to which I replies "yes", and was lead up to the 3rd floor. On the way up, she ran me through the "rules" ... "your not here for sex are you, we don't do that dirty stuff here" ... I told her, no, I don't want anything like a BS, I'm here because I hear you are about the number 1 rated massage in the city. I'm here for a good "full body massage" (I made sure to put a slight emphasis on the "full body" part, just so she'd know I was expecting a "happy ending", but I also knew, that by the reputation of the place this was ALL that I was expecting in the "millage" area.
Anyway, we agreed to a hard massage, 45 minute session, and to probably no ones surprise the massage was excellent. She asked where I would like her to concentrate, and went to work releasing all the tension.
Some little surprises: When she left the room unexpectedly, left me wondering "what the hell is she up to?" Did she go to answer the phone? Did she forget the stove on? Did she have to go add fabric softener to the rinse cycle? Turns out she had simply gone to get some hot towels, which upon her return, placed on my back as part of her massage technique... something new for me, I've had hot towels used for the cleanup before, but never as a part of the massage itself. Have to say, that part of the massage has become a real favourite of mine.
Anyway, the massage was great, the ending was happy, and even the conversation was fun.
Second Visit: This time, unlike the first time, I didn't call to check to see if there was an opening (I should have, but for some reason I didn't even think about it, and just walked right in and up the stairs.)
I was greeted by Shirley again/ "Hello John, you haven't been here for a long time." Now, my name isn't "John", and I had just been there the previous week, so I just put it down to a case of me looking like some "long missing" regular customer. I don't want to embarrass her, so I play along a little (why should I care if she wants to call me "John") and quickly change the subject.
We agree on a 45 minute session and away we go ... about 10 minutes into the session Julia comes knocking on the door. Shirley goes out and talks to Julia for a few minutes, and then returns and says there's been some kind of mix up and that she has to go look after an "appointment" and that Julia will finish the session ... now, I have no big problem with that, as I had seen Julia on the way in, and though that she was a little younger than Shirley, so why no.
Anyway, turns out that I had come in just as Shirley was expecting some guy, named "John" of course, for an appointment, and for some reason I never clued in ... duh! Oh well, no harm done. John got his appointment with Shirley, Julia proved to be near equal of Shirley on the massage, gave a little more teasing and a pretty good finish.
As I was leaving, Shirley came out of the other session (probably to get some hot towels for John) and stopped to make sure everything was / went OK. I assured her there was no problem on my part, and apologized for forgetting to call for an appointment and that I would make sure I called before coming next time. She tells me that next time I must make an hour appointment. I agree, and leave.
Third visit: This time I called and let them know I was on my way and booked an hour. When I arrived, I was again greeted by Shirley. This time she didn't call me John, but did say "I haven't seen you for at least a month". It had actually been only two weeks, at most, so I said to her that, "no, I was here two week ago, remember, I came in and you thought I was John, and stated on me, the when John showed up Julia had to take over while you looked after John?"
It didn't really click with her right away, but she seemed to let it go and told me that today Julia would be looking after me. I Showered and returned to the room. In the meantime Shirley and Julia had been in the room discussing this "John" incident. Julia had remembered, but Shirley didn't recognize me as the one in question. Anyway, long story shot, we ended up recounting the incident, an having a good laugh about it ... It always helps when you can sit down with your MPAs and laugh about "old times".
Anyway, bottom line, Chang's should be very near the top of anyones TDL when looking for a good massage with friendly and fun conversation, and are not just out for the "highest millage" you can find. Both Shirley and Julia are great at the massage. The hot towel treatment is IMO a great addition to any massage, and while there is a bit of a language problem, especially with Julia, they are both fun to talk to if you give them a chance and make an effort to get past the ESL issues. (I find that most people with ESL, might be slightly embarrassed if you ask them to repeat something they've said because you can't make out their pronunciation, but they usually also appreciate even more when someone makes an effort to understand what they are trying to say, and give them a friendly correction on how to better pronounce what they were trying to say .. just do it with respect, and they will appreciate that you are actually interested enough to want to know what they are saying, and are helping them improve their English skills.)
