Indian head massage book

Hi guys,
I was wondering whether you could recomend a good Indian head massage book, i have just started my diploma, maybe even a good book on ayurveda? I love a good read

I have just completed my London Centre of Indian Champissage Diploma, awaiting results [&:]

We were recommended to use a book called

Indian head Massage,
Discover the power of touch.

written by Narendra Mehta.

I found it really interesting and helpful.

or it may be worth asking your Tutor, what books she recommends for your course.

There is also a very good one by Helen McGuinness on Indian Head Massage (I can't remember the exact title) but it works very well with the VTCT exam.

Another very good one is the Art of Indian Head Massage (Malish) by Kush Kumar and it goes into a more spiritual area of this treatment as well.

Hi Therapeutic Angel,

I am about to start the ITEC diploma in Indian Head Massage and the book that my tutor has recommended that we get is the Helen McGuinness one mentioned above - it's just called Indian Head Massage (second edition) the ISBN is 034081473x.

It only arrived on Friday so I have not had much time to look at it but it looks a lot more thorough than any of the Louise Tucker books that I have used for A&P or Massage. There are small sections for self-assessment at the end of each chapter to see if you are understanding what you have read.

There are also photos of skin conditions that you would need to recognise when deciding whether or not to treat a client. There is also a photograph for every step of the routine.

The back of the book says "the text is fully compatible with the VTCT and ITEC awards aswell as the IHM unit of the new NVQ Level 3 Beauty Therapy Standards."

Indian Head Massage by Helen McGuiness was my course book too- it is very thorough and provides a short intro to Ayuveda.

Hello everyone. Great to join this forum. I trained to do Indian Head Massage almost 5 years ago and practiced briefly. I use to offer it at festivals and craft events and would normally shorten my routine to 15 minutes. I haven't practised now for at least 3 years but would like to get back into things. As for Chakra balancing - I wonder if there are any Therapists out there who don't offer it? I personally felt uncomfortable with Chakra balancing and have never incorporated it into my practice. I use to state that in my literature. I don't specifically do any energy work. I look forward to sharing information and ideas on practice.

Hi,

I am waitng for my results for the ITEC AP, Holistic Massage. Hoping I pass, I really want to do the IHM ITEC. Have found all your comments on books interesting as I have just ordered Helen McGuiness IHM book.

Any info on ITEC IHM past papers would be much appreciated.
