Exploitation is not specific to a particular vertical in this trade, its universal...whether its a high end bar girl or a low end prostitute. My friend who works as an IAS officer had told me 3 months back that situation is now getting out of hand. While states have been under-reporting figures, I have been told that the figures of Maharashtra can be taken as benchmark. Every other mainstream state is within 30% range of Maharashtra right since the beginning of the Pandemic. This has now become very difficult to hide. We may face a nation-wide lockdown by end of May.
